RWANDA - Mushumba cautions players after UGB win

Sunday
UR- CASS 71-68 UGB
University of Rwanda- College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR- CASS) basketball club head coach Charles Mushumba has challenged his players to stay focused and avoid complacency after a win over UGB on Sunday.
The Huye-based varsity side upset United Generation Basketball (UGB) club in a hard fought 71-68 victory before a packed UR- CASS gymnasium. UGB claimed the first, third and fourth quarters 14-10, 22-20 and 23-20 but Mushumba’s side won the second quarter 21-9 by a big margin to win the game.
Regis Gatoto scored the game high 23 points but the one-man efforts were not enough to save the day for UGB.
Plaisir Ntaganzwa (15 points) and Edmond Joie Igabe (14 points) combined for a total 29 points in UR- CASS’s narrow victory.
“I’m happy for my men. They did incredibly great. It was not easy to defeat UGB who were fresh from beating Espoir. Nonetheless, we need to stay keen and focus on the remaining fixtures, there is no room for complacency,” Mushumba said.
UR- CASS will be hosting the four-time reigning champions Espoir on Saturday and the team is in upbeat mood to stun the Nyamirambo-based giants. Espoir are top of the table with 26 points while UR- CASS stands 7th with 19 points.
