UGANDA : Oilers get Ndikumana green light ahead of clash with Warriors

Kampala- The extremes of luxury and need could perhaps be a fitting description as Warriors play City Oilers in the Airtel National Basketball at the Lugogo MTN Arena today.
Warriors have only been able to raise a full roster once in six games this season. How they could do with more players.
Oilers don’t have such worries and received further boost this week after Fiba cleared Landry Ndikumana to join them from Burundian side Urunani. His addition feels like an extravagance, at least domestically.
Oilers have a 5-1 record with the only blemish being an 81-66 defeat to Falcons. They also prevailed 75-65 in overtime past KIU Titans with Kami Kabange and James Okello with game highs of 18 and 17 points.
Warriors in the meantime thrashed Bush Court 91-43 with Joshua Etalu scoring a game high 18 points in their last game. It is in Mark Opio, though, that coach, Gad Eteu, will hinge his hopes on. The guard is averaging 18.5 points this season.
Elsewhere, Sharing Youth continued their miserable run, losing 35-71 to Power on Wednesday. The result followed more losses to Falcons, KIU Titans, Warriors, City Oilers and UCU Canons.
Joseph Ikong made 5-of-6 shots from the field for 15 points with Paul Odong and Sudi Ulanga adding 11 apiece for Robert Mugabe’s Power while Emmanuel Okumu top scored with seven for Sharing.
Magic Stormers eased past Amazon Rhino 67-31 in the women’s only fixture.
