KENYA : Students Arrest Thunder in Premier League Ball


UNITED States International University (USIU) hit Thunder 85-68 in a premier league basketball clash at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.
The "Tigers" who led 35-28 at the breather had 27 points from Abel Nson. Kenneth Kigotho provided 13. The losers had game high 35 from Derick Juma.
Lions dismissed Kenya Airports (KAA) 80-71 in an exiting and high scoring tie. The former champions led 47-33 and had Victor Ochieng hitting 23 and Denis Opiyo making 13. The losers had 24 from Billy Ongute and 12 from Ronald Kipruto.
Blazers losing run continued when they were felled 60-55 by Nakuru Club. The visitors who were down 24-28 at the break had 16 from James Okerio and 14 from Victor Orare. The losers had 15 from Joel Wafula.
Renny Moibi paced Kenyatta University "Pirates" to a 63-57 win over Mennonites. The losers who were up 27-29 at half time had Phil Odhiambo to thank as he managed 13.
USIU ladies rolled over Mennonites 94-13 to move to the top of the chart. The "Flames" ran amok in the third quarter taking a 35-3 cushion as Zipporah Odhiambo led with 15.
In the lower division matches played at Upper Hill School , the host beak lakeside 55-42, Dankind Academy survived 37-36 against Parklands Baptist, Umoja topped Baraka Xtreme 71-34 and World Hope hit Africa Nazarene university (ANU) 55-51.
