THE Charging Rhinos began the season with a headlining comeback-win over the UCU Canons in the National Basketball League.
Today at the YMCA, Famy Sebantandira and his colleagues can show what their victory was all about.
While the 59-57 win over UCU was largely treated as an upset, the Rhinos are team that has been on a steady rise for the last three seasons and it may be that all the steps of improvement are beginning to pay off.
Against, the title-chasing Falcons, Hamza Nyambogo’s young side can make another statement even if they don’t ultimately win.
The Falcons are much more organised than last season when they finished the regular season in seventh, one spot ahead of the Rhinos.
Under the leadership of new chairman Friday Kagoro, the six-time champions are looking to go a step further than the last two campaigns, which ended with defeats in the Finals.
The Falcons looked good in their season-opening 87-57 demolition of Sharing Youth and are likely to make it two wins out of two.
In the second men’s NBL affair, Tiger Head Power will look to bounce back from their memorable one-point loss to champions City Oil last week when they face newly-promoted Diamonds in the Sun.
The Diamonds lost heavily to the KIU Titans in their last affair and they will have to be much better to avoid another hammering.
In the women’s NBL, the Magic Stormers face A1 Challenge while the Nkumba Marines are due to meet KIU Rangers.
