NIGERIA : FIBA-Africa Club Tourney: First Bank Battle Deepwater

The Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, will come alive this evening as fans of the dunking game in the country will be treated to display of skills and ball handling by Nigerian basketball league gladiators, First Bank and First Deepwater, both Lagos- based clubs.

The encounter is one of the Day 4 pairings of the ongoing 17th FIBA-Africa Champions Club Championship for Women. The game will dunk off at 6p.m.
Speaking ahead of their match against First Bank, coach of Deepwater, Lateef Erinfolami, said they hope to bounce back with a victory against the Elephant Girls, as First Bank are popularly known, after their painful 75-82 points defeat to Interclube of Angola yesterday.
Coach Aderemi Adewunmi of First Bank on his part said his players will approach the tie with all seriousness having suffered defeats in their last two matches against the ‘Oil and Gas ladies’.
Other matches scheduled for this evening include the tie between Kenyan Port Authority, KPA, and GD Maculosso of Angola.
The defending champions of the tourney, Interclube of Angola, will observe a day rest due to the absence of their opponents, I.N.J.S of Cameroon.
