NIGERIA : Continental Basketball - First Deepwater, First Bank Intensify Training

Host of the 17th edition of the FIBA Africa Champions Club for Women, First Deepwater and former champions First Bank have intensified training ahead the commencement of the continent's biggest women club competition to begin this weekend in Lagos. Host, First Deepwater also promised to stage a good event. The host yesterday said they will add value by bringing a mixture of basketball and entertainment to the competition. To this end, the club has lined up two up-coming musicians to perform on every game day.

The two Nigerian representatives at the 2011 final round of the champions club, First Deepwater and First Bank said they have doubled their trainings ahead of the first jump-ball this Sunday. Head coach of First Deepwater Lateef Erinfolami said his girls are battle ready for the final showdown. The former Nigeria senior national team and Ebun Comets captain said his optimism is based on the performance of his girls at the 2010/2011 women league season won by the club for a second straight season in Lagos. "We are set for any opposition and very eager to take to the floor of the sports hall and we want to enjoin basketball lovers in Nigeria to troop out in large numbers to give us maximum support."
The Nigerian league champions stated that the artists will perform at half-time of the games from December 4 to 10.
The two musicians billed for the continent's biggest women club competition are KOP9DZ with their 'BOJU BOJU' from the forthcoming album and 'CHECKMATE' crooner MR WALZ.
