Local sides DMark Power and Mogas Falcons will have to rely on results from other matches to stand a chance of making the penultimate stage of the ongoing Africa Zone 5 Sprite Championship.

Power, the reigning local league champions, yesterday evening suffered their second loss of the tournament when they clumsily folded at the hands of Rwandan side CSK 82-91 at Makerere University main ground.

It was a big blow for Peter Mubanda’s side as they have to pray that Warriors defeat CSK today to leave them with a chance of sneaking through to the last four. That result though won’t be good enough as Power must defeat Warriors in their last group game.

Although they recorded their first victory, an 85-73 beating of Tanzania’s ABC last night, Falcons can only squeeze through by winning their remaining two group matches and pray that Kenya Ports Athority (KPA) falter along the way.

At the moment, its all gloom for Uganda as women sides A-1 Challenge and KIU Rangers also got eliminated.
