KENYA : HomeSports Sports Junior basketball star Olumasi leaves for US on scholarship

Kenya under-18 basketball player Mildred Olumasi has all the qualities of a quality sports women who can break into the ranks of the the Womens National Basketball Association (WNBA) if she continues her brilliant performance.
Speaking at farewell party for the player organised by the Coast Secondary Schools Sports Association Chairman Athman Mwinyi Yeya in conjunction with the Nairobi secondary schools sports body, Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association secretary general David Ngugi said Olumasi who left on Sunday for the United States where she will pursue a degree in Marketing at the Union University in Tennessee, had proved that everything is possible with hardwork and asked other students to emulate her.

The 17 year old will be in the United States for five years on Sh6 million scholarship.

Ngugi praised Mombasa High School for changing the lives of several young Kenyans saying the nine students from the school currently in the US on basketball scholarships will be of great help to the country both in a sports and in improving the economy.
