NIGERIA : Police Games- FHQ, Zone-2 keeps clean slate -

Force Headquarters and Zone-2 formations of the Nigeria Police Monday continue their impressive run in the basketball event of the Nigeria Police Games which enters Day-4 today.

Men and Women of the two formations recorded good results over their opponents Monday at the refurbished basketball court of the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.

Force Headquarters Women open the day with a resounding victory of 41-09 points victory over Zone-5 using their rich experience to overwhelm their opponent in the one sided game.
The victory by the FHQ women propelled their men who humbled Zone-7 by 44-25 points with former Police Bombers basketball club experience centre, Michael Togun staging a comeback to the game that brought him fame and fortune.

Zone-2 Men and Women took their turn in the late evening of the day with victories over Zone-1 (48-33 Men) and a scrapped 30-29 points victory over Zone-6 in the women category.

Other results from games played Monday, Women Zone-1 20-0 (w/o); Zone-7 50-12 Zone-8 and in the Men Zone-11 41-35 Zone-9 and Zone-12 40-25 Zone-5.

Action continue Tuesday with eight matches on the bill, at 08.00 hours Zone-5 will do battle against FHQ (Men), at 09.30 hours the women from Zone-2 will see if they can add their counterpart from Zone-1 as one of their prey, it will be the turn of Zone-2 against Zone-9 at 10.30 hours in the Men cadre while Zone-8 women battles Zone-5 in a match where one of the two side must record a win as both sides have been at the receiving since the Games began. The match comes up at Noon.

Other games on the bill for the day includesZone-11 Vs Zone-1 (Men) at 13.00 hours; Zone-11 Vs Zone-6 (Women) 14.30 hours; Zone-7 against FHQ (Women) at 15.30 hours while the last match of the day will be between Zone-7 and Zone-12 (Men) at 16.30 hours.
