HENRY Malinga scored a team-high 13 points to help Mogas Falcons boost their playoff ambitions with a 66-42 victory over the KCC Lions at Namboole, Sunday.

In the women’s division, A1 Challenge took their perfect record this season to 13 straight wins, with a 55-49 defeat of the Makerere Sparks. UCU Canons claimed a walkover against Nabisunsa, who lead the standings.
The Mukono-based team have 28 points from 16 games, two ahead of A1, who have played three less.

The men’s defending champions, who were returning from a three-week break, ensured there were no surprises in their game as they led from start to finish.
Thanks to new acquisition Isaac Lugedde, who scored 12 points, Falcons outscored the Lions 20-7 in the first quarter.
And although the Lions fought back to cut the deficit to 13 by halftime, the Falcons outgunned them 14-12 in the third before extending their lead further in the final quarter.
For the KCC Lions, for whom Dibso Dibel (15) and Michael Opolot (8) were the outstanding players, it is back to the same old energy-sapping losses.
The latest took their loss record to 12 out of 14 games and left them propping the table with 16 points, almost certainly ensuring they will ultimately be relegated.
While for the Falcons, the win meant they rise to fourth on the table with 20 points, putting them in position to guarantee playoff qualification with six games to play.
