CAP VERDE : Vinny in the USA

Aldevino Lima (203-C-86) left Portugal to the US this January, when he traded Benfica for Northeastern.
The coaches at Northeastern were very impressed with Vinny's abilities, and height.
He made his collegiate debut at George Mason (Jan. 12) and played 15 minutes, earning one rebound and one steal.

Before NU Vinny Played five seasons of AAU basketball for Associacao Academica do Mindelo in Cape Verde...captained the squad for two seasons...was named team MVP twice...helped lead team to league title in 2006, and in 2007 played for Benfica in Portugal.

Born Aug. 25, 1986, Viny intends to major in Mechanical Engineering, hoping for a career in professional basketball, he enjoys playing soccer with his brothers, he will graduate in 2012.


UNC Wilmington slips by Huskies, 77-69
The Huskies enjoyed a nine-point lead midway through the first half, but the Seahawks went on a 15-0 run and held off a late second half NU rally to beat the Huskies 77-69 Wednesday night at Trask Coliseum in Wilmington, N.C. Sophomore captain Matt Janning led all scorers with 21 points while freshman Aldevino Lima (203-C-86) picked up his first collegiate points with 10. Sophomore Baptiste Bataille played a strong second half, scoring a career-high 10 points and posting five assists. Northeastern is back on the court on Saturday when it entertains Hofstra at Matthews Arena at 1 p.m.
