SENEGAL 07 : Angola , first qualified for 1/2 final by beating Côte d’Ivoire 44-42

In a near shock encounter Angola survives the fighting spirit of the young ladies from Cote d’Ivoire to become the first country to move into the semi-finals of the 20th Africa Nations Championship for Women.

Angola was able to stamp their authority at the dying minutes of game winning by 44-42 points to set up a semi-final duel between the winners of the Cameroon versus Mali quarter-final match.

Though they lose the match but the young Ivorian girls received standing ovation from the fans for putting up a strong battle against the more experience Angolan side.
