NATIONAL Basketball League giants Miracle will be the first team to bow out of the ongoing Falcons Invitational Tournament if they lose to Burundi's New Star today.
The Rubaga-based side Tuesday night showed character when they beat Zambia's Green Eagles 80-74 but faltered in their second game 75-79 against Warriors yesterday.

On Tuesday they held their nerves and defended a narrow lead to win the tension-packed game against the Zambians. With 15 seconds to the end and scores at 76-72, Edward Bongomin (17) completed a four-point play, sending Ugandan fans into frenzy. Obert Mureza had a game high 25 points and eight rebounds for the visitors.

Miracle though failed to produce the same form yesterday. With Burundi's New Star having beaten Green Eagles (Zambia) 99-94 later yesterday, Miracle are now on the brink of elimination.

If Warriors beat Zambia's Green Eagles, they will make the semi-finals. Makerere University Sparks upset women record champions Lady Bucks 59-56 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Norman Blick (left) scored a season high 43 points as Nkumba Marines whitewashed Kenya's Baptist 129-36. It was the biggest defeat in the history of the tournament. The Marines take on UCU Canons at 6 p.m. tonight.
