KENYA : National Team in Training

The Kenya National women's basketball team is already in training ahead of the All Africa Games Championships to be held in Algeria in July. The team, under Coach Thomas “Smatts” Olumbo, qualified for the games after they whacked home team Rwanda 95-38 in a game they sunk a record nine three-pointers in the Zone Five qualifiers-Rwanda. The veteran tactician is maintaining the same squad that includes guards Rebecca Sarange, Eunice Ouma, Hilda Luvandwa, and Millicent Anyango among others, backed by forwards led by Gladys Wanyama, Caroline “Majeng” Achieng and Miriam Awuor. Others in training at Nyayo Gymnasium include High School sensation Salma Garang of Shimba Hills High School , and USIU explosive forward Angela Okoth. Coach Olumbo will name his final squad before departure to Algeria .
