MTN basketball giant side Sadolin Power will not participate in the third edition of Falcons Invitational event that tips off on July 25 at Lugogo Indoor Stadium.

The organisers Falcons Basketball Club said Power dishonoured the international rules by including non-legible players after failing to raise a team in last year's event.

Local basketball governing body (FUBA) and Falcons President Mr John Ssimbwa confirmed to Daily Monitor that the club is serving a one-year ban.

"They showed disrespect of regulations in the presence of a Fiba official, who ordered the ban," Ssimbwa said.

Power with then coach Peter Mubanda made a collection of players from Nkumba Marines and Kampala International University (KIU), defying the rules governing all fiba reorganised tournaments.

Mr. Arnand Sevaux, who had come to recommend the tournament as a Fiba regional qualifier, ordered Fuba to take serious action.

MAK Sparks, Kampala City Council (KCC) Leopards, Lady Bucks and local league queens and regional bronze medal winners A-I Challenge are the local ladies' teams.

Meanwhile, Kenya national men champions Ulinzi Warriors have confirmed their participation. Two men and women teams from Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya and DR Congo are also expected.
