NIGERIA : Under 18 Team

The trio of coaches Adeka Dauda, Masai Ujiri and Emma Oga were busy drilling the assemblage of Nigeria under 18 male team Tuesday at the Sports Hall of the Lagos national stadium ahead the Fiba Africa Championship billed for Durban, South Africa from July 28 through August 6.

The eighteen players currently battling for the twelve man team were seen taking offense and defense instruction from the coaches.

Some of the players who have vowed to retain the cup for Nigeria if selected and go on to do well at the FIBA under 19 world championship coming up next year in Vancouver, Canada.

Some of the players who are still sweating out daily for a place in the team includes, Oseer Ikyaator, Goerge Ehiagwina, Ehime Orukpe and Frank Ben-Eze, Seyi Ahmed, Mohammed Bukar, Seyi Ayodele, Michael Uwa-Okoro, Mbaram Omori, Daniel Dawodu, Farouk Oyelade, Solomon Alabi, among others.

The team is expected to jet out to South Africa three days before the commencement of the championship which is to produce Africa two representative at the world met.

Nigeria have continually dominate the rest of Africa in the under age men championship and is not prepared to surrender that leadership status to other countries in the continent reason why it is putting everything into the short time that the team has to prepare.

Head coach, Adeka Dauda said the joy of everything is that most of the youngsters have taken part in many competition this year, from the national sports festival to the premier league and the Lagos City league.
