RWANDA: B-ball pre-season event this Saturday

Rwanda's basketball association has created a new tournament branded "Preseason basketball tournament", that kicks off this Saturday morning at Amahoro courts - Remera.

The tournament will be taking place annually two weeks prior to the national basketball league, attracting both first and second division clubs.
The federation's technical adviser Eric Karuhije has confirmed the event. "The federation executive committee has set up and confirmed that the new event kick off this Saturday," he said.
He added that the event will run for two weekends in succession.
He said the objective was to avail teams an opportunity to build up for the national league.
Although the newly created tournament has failed to attract sponsors, the federation has vowed to keep the event going despite its meagre funds.
According to the official, the clubs interested to contest in the preseason tourney will pay a participation fee of 10,000 Rwandan francs only.
